Dr. Luke Haslam

DDS

Popularly known as Dr. Luke, Dr. Haslam, sometimes Doc and when he's not in the office, Dad.

Dr. Luke Haslam B.Sc., D.D.S. is a graduate of the doctor dental surgery program at Dalhousie University and the recipient of many dental academic awards. He is the full-time practicing dentist and owner of Basinview Dental located along the Bay of Fundy coast in Deep Brook, NS and is the supporting clinical director of the Atlantic/ Toronto Dawson Academy Study Club.  

Dr. Haslam is a graduate of the Misch International Implant Institute of Canada and is an active member of Cerec Doctors with advanced education and clinical experiences in the fields of CAD CAM technologies. He has earned a Fellowship through the World Clinical Laser Institute and devotes much of his personal time to continuing education both locally and internationally. Dr. Haslam’s treatment philosophy is to provide his patients with comprehensive oral health care with a focus on dental implant, restorative, functional and esthetic dentistry while implementing The Dawson Academy philosophies within his practice.  

Dr. Haslam grew up in Westville, N.S. loves Acropole pizza and once played in a hockey game with legends Larry Robinson, Guy Lafleur and Maurice 'Rocket' Richard.

On his spare time, Dr. Haslam enjoys travelling, golfing and spending time with his wife and four daughters. 

Alyssa Huston

RDH

Introducing Alyssa, a native of Annapolis Royal, graduating in 2015 with her Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Dalhousie University. Alyssa brings a positive, calm nature and passionate devotion to dentistry.

Along with Dr. Haslam's vision for comprehensive care, Alyssa is motivated to provide excellent oral hygiene care and to guide her patients with the best individualized oral self-measures to prevent future disease, allowing for a healthier, happier smile. On top of that, she loves to get to know her patients!

Relationships matter at Basinview Dental and they happen best with a provider like Alyssa.

On her spare time, Alyssa enjoys being physically active and spending time with friends, family, and of course her dog Mylah.

Chantel Huntley

RDH

Originally from Scott's Bay, Chantel earned her Diploma in Dental Hygiene at Dalhousie University with a certification in local anesthetic in 2013. She has been a practicing Registered Dental Hygienist ever since, and has generous experience working with a diverse patient base, including those with dental implants, prosthodontics and orthodontics. 

We are so pleased Chantel has brought her gentle demeanor and dedication to quality patient care to Basinview Dental Centre.

When she's not at work, you will find Chantel in total relaxation mode in her hot tub, practicing her golf swing and spending time with her family. 

Michelle Isles

Administration

Meet Michelle, a member of the Basinview Dental Team from the very beginning!

Originally from the tidal town of Bear River, NS, Michelle joined the Basinview Dental Team as an Administrative Assistant in August of 2012. She quickly became the dependable warm and friendly face that will greet you when coming to Basinview Dental. Her ever expanding knowledge of dental treatment options helps to further assist patients in their oral health needs. 

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys cooking, reading, cranking up musical hits from the 80's, and spending time with her son. 

Megan Williams

RDA

Introducing Megan, a native of Annapolis Royal. Megan graduated in 2014 with her Diploma in Level II Dental Assisting from Oulton College New Brunswick and has experience in family care, emergency patient care and Canadian Military Armed Forces Practice(s). Megan brings to Basinvew Dental a genuine, peaceful attitude and true dedication like no other. 

Along with Basinview Dental Centre’s mission, Megan is dedicated in applying her clinical skills and dental knowledge in order to provide patients with the very best oral health outcomes. She is truly here for you! 

In her spare time, Megan enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her dog Lily. 

Cheryl Hayes

Dental Office Manager

Welcome Cheryl! Cheryl is one of the newest key people at Basinview Dental. Joining us in September 2022 after moving to Nova Scotia, Cheryl brings with her a wealth of clinical dental experience and knowledge. For over 20 years Cheryl has managed dental offices in multiple locations in Ontario prior to moving to NS and has quickly become the go-to within the clinic. Her integrity, confidence and steadfast dedication make her an irreplaceable member of Basinview Dental. Whether may it be with the clinical team as a Treatment Coordinator or the front desk as a Patient Relations Liaison, Cheryl is committed to managing the practice’s standards for dental health, safety and patient care. Her support to all members of our team is infinite and we couldn’t imagine a day without her! On her spare time, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading and adding to her Irish Whiskey collection!

Megan Haslam

RDA

Meet Megan! Born and raised in Halifax, NS, she and her husband Dr. Luke decided to move their dentistry to the Digby/ Annapolis area in 2011. 

Megan has been a certified clinical assistant since 2008 graduating from the NSCC IT Campus and enjoys professional growth and development, leadership training, and particularly building rapport with her patients and community through volunteer work and being the warm, comforting assistant you can expect chairside Dr. Luke. 

Outside of her work, Megan enjoys spending time with her children, continuing education, reading and planning her next trip!
